The north west coast of Mallorca is absolutely beautiful and a great place to spend a day or two in. The greatest place of them all; Puerto Soller. When you are entering the almost circular shaped bay, La Badia de Soller, the two famous lighthouses on either side of the bay will guide you in. Well inside the bay, it is very calm and shallow and the only beach on the north west coast is to be found here. The busy harbor is situated in the north side of the bay and all types of yachts and boats are to be found there from fishing boats, luxury yachts to day trip cruisers. The port has 465 moorings and the maximum lenght for yachts are 30 meters.

During the last few years Puerto Soller has become one of the most fashionable resorts of the island. The recently opening of the Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa and Hotel Espléndido are two great examples of the facelift the resort has seen. The sea-front is also being redeveloped and the train has been given a new route.

The small sized resort of Puerto Soller is around 30 minutes drive away from the airport by car or taxi. It is also a common starting place for many boat trips that runs up and down the rocky north west coast. There are plenty of beautiful places to visit along the coast and many hidden coves. Two breathtaking places are for example Sa Calobra and the Tramuntana mountains. Scuba divers loves the area around the port and there are exursions starting daily if you want to join a guided tour. If you enjoy walking or hiking this is also an amazing place to start from, no matter experience or condition. The local guide companies are specialists in the area and can take you to the lighthouses, through rock gardens, olive groves and all the way to Tramuntana mountains if you like.

Puerto De Soller is very relaxed and quiet and consists of restaurants, bars, cafes and small souvenir shops. 3 kilometers inland from the resort lies the small town of Soller. Why dont take the antique tram from the port all the way to the town for a cultural visit. In the middle of Soller lies a lovely square with its imposing church, orange trees and cafes. We highly recommend you to stop here for a coffe or an freshly squeezed orange juice in one of the many cafées, it will be a charming experience. From the same square you have the possibility to take the train all the way into Palma and feel delighted and relaxed while watching the beautiful scenery.
